# Establishing an RTC connection

After installation **RTC Agent** the administrator can start a remote session with the selected computer directly from eAuditor Cloud.

The RTC connection allows taking control of the user's screen and managing the computer, as well as performing remote administrative tasks.

The connection can be started in two ways:

* from the view **Computers**,
* from the module **RTC**.

## Establishing a connection - option 1

The first method allows you to start the connection directly from the computer list.

Go to:

**IT Infrastructure -> Computers**

#### Select the computer

Find the computer in the list with which you want to establish an RTC connection.

Then select the button available next to the selected computer.

#### Optionally open the Actions menu

Click **Actions** next to the selected computer, then choose **RTC** in the available tools section.

#### Start the connection

After selecting the option **RTC** the system will begin establishing the connection to the computer.

After the session is successfully established, the RTC interface will open, allowing further work with the device.

## Establishing a connection - option 2

The RTC connection can also be started directly from the module **RTC**.

Go to:

**IT Management -> RTC**

The view shows the computers available for RTC and information about currently active sessions.

#### Find the computer

Find the computer in the list with which you want to establish a connection.

#### Start the connection

Select the option to start the connection by "Save selected"

The system will begin establishing the RTC session.

#### Open the RTC session

After the connection is established successfully, the RTC interface will open.

From this level, the administrator can perform further actions on the remote computer.

## Concurrent RTC sessions

The system allows multiple RTC sessions to run simultaneously.

The number of available concurrent connections depends on the active system plan.

If the maximum number of active sessions is reached, starting another connection will not be possible until one of the currently running sessions has ended.

## User consent for connection

For each computer, you can specify whether starting an RTC session requires confirmation from the end user.

If the option **Consent required** is enabled, a prompt asking the user to accept the session will be displayed on the user's computer before the connection starts.

The connection will be established only after the user gives consent.

If the option **Consent required** is not enabled, the administrator can start an RTC session without additional confirmation from the user.

The consent setting for the connection is defined for a specific computer. The method of starting the session depends on the RTC configuration assigned to the device.

## Ending an RTC session

After completing your work, close the active RTC session from the connection interface.

Ending the session interrupts the remote connection to the computer and closes the RTC interface.

Ending the RTC connection itself **does not automatically log out** the user from Windows.

If, during the session, the administrator logged out the current user and logged in with another account, the currently open system session will remain active after the connection ends on the computer.

### Locking the computer after the session ends

The computer's behavior after disconnection can be changed using the **Lock on disconnect** option available in RTC settings.

If the option is enabled, the computer will be locked after the connection ends.

## Frequently asked questions

<summary><strong>Why is the RTC option not available for the computer?</strong></summary>

Check whether RTC Agent has previously been installed on the computer.

Without the RTC Agent component installed, establishing an RTC connection is not possible.

<summary><strong>Does the user have to accept the RTC connection?</strong></summary>

It depends on the configuration assigned to the computer.

If the option **Consent required** is enabled, the end user must accept the connection attempt before the session starts.

If the option is not enabled, the administrator can start the connection without additional user confirmation.

The RTC connection can be started in two ways:
